But despite the seriousness of the crime, Pearsall delivered a gracious message to the teenager who shot him. In fact, Pearsall offered his forgiveness.

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Rick Pearsall hopes to make a positive impact on the teenager who shot him in August. Pearsall was shot by a 17-year-old in an attempted robbery at Union Square, and the 49ers wideout wants to make sure the young man is able to get his life back on the right path.

"I don’t know how he grew up so, I can’t judge him as a man just based off one action that he made," Pearsall said.

The suspect shot him when attempting to rob Pearsall over a Rolex watch while the former Florida receiver was on his way to a signing ceremony in Union Square of San Francisco, and there was a reported struggle for the gun, according to Fox 40 sports reporter Kirsten Moran-Kellar.

Asked to evaluate Pearsall's year in their end-of-season media session, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch celebrated the collegiate Gator for overcoming adversity as a first-year pro, as he really came through for his team.
