ST. LUCIE COUNTY — Five oceanfront homes could soon be built on North Hutchinson Island, in a scaled back development proposal, after receiving site plan approval from county commissioners Tuesday.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS Broward County Commission will consider a plat amendment on Jan. 28. Playa House LLC plans to build 30 high-rise condos. The site is currently vacant after demolition in 2021.
