An amber weather warning is in place across most of north Wales as Storm Éowyn hits the country.

A series of new weather alerts, including an amber “danger to life” warning, has been issued by the Met Office as Storm Éowyn is forecast to barrel into the UK with 90mph winds and rain. The fresh amber warning for wind will stretch from the North West and northern Wales to Scotland and Northern Ireland on Friday from 6am to 9pm.

Storm Éowyn is set to bring gusts of up to 90mph with the Met Office warning of a "danger to life". Windspeeds will pick up on Thursday, but the worst of the weather is set to arrive overnight and into Friday morning.
