While much of the buzz around DC Studios has fans looking forward ( or up in this case) to Superman ‘s return to the silver screen this July, weekly watchers of James Gunn’s adult animated series Creature Commandos just got their first look at Batman.

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Creature Commandos creator James Gunn and director Dean Lorey spoke about Batman’s inclusion in the latest episode. Gunn mentioned that the first edit of the episode featured more of Batman,

Creature Commandos not only gives James Gunn’s DCU its official beginning but has also enlightened fans with Batman’s debut. The actor playing this new version of the Caped Crusader has yet to be cast.

James Gunn, in a recent chat, revealed that when he saw the first episode of Creature Commandos, he was not ready to commit to the suit design of Batman in the show. Fans think the director is dropping hints about the next Batman film in DCU.
