Honda is issuing a recall notice for almost 1.7 million cars and SUVs over a steering issue that may increase the risk of a crash.

Honda is recalling 1,693,199 vehicles because the steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.

The NHTSA recently announced recalls for 1,781,368 vehicles. This includes BMW, Honda, Nissan, Porsche, Volkswagen and Volvo.
