Come in from the cold with this comforting steamed pudding of beef, stout and mushrooms. Look for well-marbled braising beef such as chuck steak for this recipe. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
Remove the pudding from the pan, take off the foil and parchment and leave to rest for five minutes. Then use a small, sharp knife to release the sides of the pudding from the basin.
