Ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ramped up its political campaign with a major street protest against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

He also criticised the BJP, calling it a “dharna party” and accusing it of dividing voters from Purvanchal under the pretext of the Rohingya issue.

Like the BJP, the AAP had also announced that the monthly allowance given to women under the Mahila Samman Rashi scheme would be increased to ₹2,100 from ₹1,000 if the AAP returned to power. The BJP hopes to return to power in Delhi after more than 25 years of being out of power.

The AAP, which secured the highest number of seats in the recently held 95-member Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, is still two short of halfway mark of 48.
