MSNBC welcomed Politico's Eugene Daniels as the network's new Senior Washington Correspondent, Morning Joe announced on Monday.

MSNBC has officially named Eugene Daniels as its new Senior Washington Correspondent. A former Politico journalist, Daniels is no stranger to the network, having made frequent appearances over the years.

Just like Rodney Dangerfield, Eugene Daniels is heading back to school. TVNewser can exclusive reveal that the former White House correspondent for Politico and MSNBC’s newly-announced senior Washington correspondent is the commencement speaker for 2025’s graduating class at Colorado State University.

MSNBC has hired Scott Matthews, who has most recently been vice president and news director at WABC-TV, as its senior vice president of newsgathering. Matthews is a key component of MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler’s plans to build up a news operation as the network prepares to separate from Comcast and will no longer have the resources of NBC News.
