Imane Khelif has pledged to continue fighting in the women’s category despite a decision by the International Boxing Association to file criminal complaints over the Algerian’s participation in last summer’s Paris Olympics.

The Algerian boxer who found herself in the middle of a bitter divide about gender in sports during the Paris Olympics has denounced "false and offensive" accusations from the International Boxing Association.

Neither Khelif nor Lin Yu-ting are transgender women. Both were born and raised as women, which is how they are registered on their passports.

International Boxing Association links their action to Trump’s executive order seeking to ban transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports.
