Moments after the news broke that Butler was traded from the Heat to the Warriors, however, he reportedly agreed to a two-year extension with the franchise anyway.

The Golden State Warriors shocked the NBA world on Wednesday night, acquiring six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. The deal is reportedly a five-team trade involving the Warriors, Heat, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and Detroit Pistons.

The Heat dealt the disgruntled Butler to the Golden State Warriors as part of a three-team trade on Wednesday night on the eve of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, ESPN reported. The Heat also traded Josh Richardson to the Detroit Pistons as part of the deal.
