2020年2月14日 · Concrete doesn't need to "breathe", it is perfectly happy sitting in water. The problem is mold. You want to avoid air getting to the wet surface. I've done LVT on bare basement concrete floors with no barrier underneath, but these were dry with low moisture content. It works great and much more comfortable than tile.

Basement walls will get waterproofing membrane and dimple/drainage mat. The whole house will be build with this system except for the roof. Looking at R-50 for slab and walls.

2022年8月21日 · A previous owner had insulated the concrete basement walls with 1.5″ of foam with thin wood paneling attached directly on top. In some areas there was fiberglass insulation in a 3.5″ cavity directly against the concrete. Totally inadequate and not up to code. The basement is relatively dry and it rarely gets very humid here.

2012年6月4日 · The concrete basement walls support the outer of double stud walls and the roof/ceilings while interior basement walls support floor framing and the inner of the exterior walls. I realize, of course, the concrete walls need to be designed to restrain back fill without bracing by the floor as is typical.
